Unsung Heroes Dinner
A couple of Fridays ago, the Sigma Pi fraternity hosted their annual Unsung Heroes Dinner to show appreciation for FM employees working behind the scenes. An annual event for the past five years or so, these students look forward to planning a hearty meal and hosting our second shift custodial workers at their 1829 University Ave. chapter house. See photos they sent below.
HS Custodial Supervisor Meagan Schumann reported, The Sigma Pi students were great! They sat at the tables with us talking and asking questions. "They did their best to keep the food coming out hot and steady. They very much appreciated our gratitude. The chili was really good and the overall atmosphere was inviting. I think they do an awesome job for us".
Five employees from St Paul Team 2 were planning to attend. That evening, however, they were short-handed and had to remove snow. The crew decided not to further shorten their night under these conditions to ensure the work got done. Chris Herbst commended his staff for being the very example of Unsung Heroes: rising up to meet the challenge when duty calls, and foregoing the recognition they deserved.
- Congrats to all FM employees for making November another month of NO lost time work injuries!
- Mid-term self-evaluations for Civil Service and P&A staff are due Dec. 12. Supervisor evaluations are due Dec. 23.
- Thanks to all supervisors who encouraged employees to attend special Open Enrollment sessions during 2nd/3rd shifts, and thanks to those employees who attended.
Snow and some cold temperatures are in the forecast for this week. Stay safe and have a great week.
