Ride toward $400
The University has greened up for spring, from the lawns and plantings to the familiar green Nice Ride bikes in stands around campus. I know some members of our team use the bikes to pedal between meetings this time of year, which can be a great way to get exercise and enjoy the season. Mike Garza, North District AD, says he even jumps on a bike at lunchtime to head to the Rec Center for a quick workout. If you’re not familiar with the program, there are more than 20 locations to pick up a bike and 190 more around the Twin Cities; annual membership is only $25 for those who have University insurance. Learn more about Nice Ride. The Wellness Program also encourages employees to consider bike commuting to earn wellness points.
In January, I challenged eligible employees to sign up for the Wellness program and I’d like to see all employees who started the program reach the finish line. You have until August 31 to earn points and receive a $400 or $600 discount on your 2018 health insurance premiums - visit the newly updated StayWell website to discover additional points opportunities available to you.
