FM Helps the U Excel
On Saturday, University President Eric Kaler issued a response to the executive order impacting immigration procedures for citizens of seven countries. The University is committed to advocating for any students, staff or faculty affected by this order, and I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm that commitment to you. Our strong and diverse FM team plays an essential role in ensuring the University is an exceptional place for world-class discovery, and I value every team member. View President Kaler’s full memo, which includes links to University legal and immigration resources for those with questions.
I also invite you to read about the University’s We All Belong Here campaign, which launched today.
I was happy to learn that the U once again excelled in the GameDay Recycling Challenge, competing against nearly 50 schools from across the country. The challenge measures pounds of material composted and recycled versus the amount thrown away from the stadium and tailgate areas.
Kudos to FM’s Waste Recovery Services and Sustainability teams, who partnered with Athletics Operations and stadium vendors, earning the U the top spot nationally in organics recycling. We also ranked second in the conference for solids recycling. In total, the U diverted 119,510 pounds of material from the game day waste stream in 2016. Learn more about our sustainability efforts.

- Have you started the Wellness program yet? The online wellness assessment is a great way to start and only takes 15 minutes to earn 150 points.
- Many employees have signed up for second and third shift biometric screenings, worth 150 wellness points. There are still spots available on Monday, Feb. 6, 9:30 - 11:05 pm and Feb. 13, 4:30 - 6:30 pm, Boynton Clinic, Room W120. See your supervisor for sign-up sheets. Employees may also schedule a different time directly through Boynton. Note: You are encouraged to fast for 8 hours before your screening to get full test results. If you haven’t fasted, you may still go to the screening and receive 150 points.
